Greg L. Johnson

Greg Johnson, Founder of GJPI considers his life in three acts: Musician; International Business Entrepreneur; and Health Care Professional through his Ministry in Family Caregiving.  Ordained in 2002 as an Inter-faith Minister, and a family caregiver himself, Greg continues his twenty years of serving EmblemHealth’s Care for the Family Caregiver initiative, along with his activities as Speaker, Author, Lecturer, and Retreat Leader for family caregiving.

Gene K. Johnson

Gene K. Johnson, Co-Founder of GJPI, has more than 25 years of experience in Business Development, having obtained a Bachelor of Chemical Engineering from the Bandung Institute of Technology in 1996 and a Masters Degree in Management from Padjadjaran University in 2004. He started his career as Product Engineer in the polyethylene terephtalate industry, a raw material commonly used in plastic bottles for mineral water, drinks, cooking oil and medication.

Gene then served as a Product Development Engineer for Mattel in its Barbie doll manufacturing plant in Indonesia.  In 2000, he was assigned to Mattel Headquarters in El Segundo, Los Angeles County, California as the Indonesian Plant Engineering Representative to facilitate communication between the Marketing and the Design & Development teams at Mattel headquarters and the Factory & Engineering team at the Indonesian plant.

As business development opportunities exploded over the internet, in 2002 Gene joined the German company Merck KgaA, in their Chemicals & Pharmaceuticals division as National Sales Manager for Life Sciences & Analytics products.  In 2005, Gene went on to be the Plant Manager of Trifa Laboratories, an Indonesian pharmaceutical company that produces over the counter generic drugs.

In 2012, Gene joined the Oil & Gas chemicals treatment division of Ecolab, a US hygiene & water treatment company based in St. Paul, Minnesota.  Here, Gene assisted in overseeing the process to refine the oil originating from the Chevron and Total oilfields located throughout Indonesia.

By the end of 2014, Gene joined Tetra Pak, a Swedish food processing and packing solutions company.   As a Global Account Manager for their multinational personal care clients such as L’Oreal, Unilever, Reckitt Benckiser, Estee Lauder, Avon, and Revlon, each with facilities in different countries including the United States, Canada, Mexico and Brazil, this work allowed Gene to hone his ability to operate effectively within a myriad cultures with diverse customs, and languages.

Since 2019, Gene heads the Indonesia Representative Office for Ecolean.  This Swedish company specializes in Sustainability Packaging and Filling Machines for customers in the dairy, beverage, and liquid food industry serving the Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore and Philippine markets. Currently, recycling rates of plastic waste in these countries is limited, Gene is part of the team looking at developing light-weight packaging and/or packaging made with less plastic content for use in lieu of existing plastic solutions.
